Has Hezbollah just tried to kill Netanyahu?
While “presstitutes” in the Western mainstream (MSM) media keep sleeping this Saturday morning (19th October 2024), maybe because of a booze party and subsequent hangover last night or most likely because of military censorship imposed on all Western media (not just Israeli) by the Zionist, I am pleased to bring you the breaking news coming from the Middle East straight into your inbox: Hezbollay may have just tried to kill the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu.
If you do a search with your favourite search engine (e.g. Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo), you will find almost nothing about it on Western MSM, with the first western agencies being released only now, after more than 2 hours after the event (i.e. ~10:30 EEST, as I write, e.g. Reuters) and with scant details. As I write, The Guardian has just restarted its Middle East “live” blog with no mention at all of this event (UPDATE before publication: there is now a short snippet).
But enough with talking about Western MSM. Let’s focus instead on what happened earlier this morning.
At 7:27 EEST, Al Mayadeen, citing Israeli media, reported on its Short News about explosions “in the vicinity of Tiberias” and, almost half an hour later, at 7:54 EEST, injuries “in drone explosion in building in Caesarea near Netanyahu's residence” without prior warning of a drone strike and with the Israeli army admitting that a “drone exploded as the air defenses failed to intercept it”. Of course, the Israeli police shut down streets in Caesarea to prevent media from approaching site of drone crash. Quoting Yedioth Ahronoth, Al Mayadeen reported at 8:56 EEST that Netanyahu's office refused “to disclose the location of the prime minister at the time of the explosion of the drone in Caesarea” and that the “drone flew about 70 kilometers from Lebanon and directly hit a building in Caesarea, with shrapnel reaching a neighboring building”. Only at 10:19 EEST the Israeli Prime Minister's Office finally “confirmed that the drone that exploded in Caesarea this morning targeted Netanyahu's residence”, as per Al Mayadeen, with The Times of Israel adding that the “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara were not home at the time of the attack and that there were no injuries in the incident”, though their whereabouts are not known yet. The event is probably under severe military censorship.
Al Mayadeen also summarized the events from this morning in this excellent article, where it also stated that 3 drones were launched from Lebanon towards Haifa, with 2 “being detected and intercepted, according to the Israeli military” and the third one achieving a direct hit on Netanyahu’s residence, “with shrapnel reaching a neighboring building”, after flying past an Israeli military helicopter, as shown in the lead image and in the video below (original from Al Mayadeen X channel here):
Regardless of Netanyahu’s health, that is even if he is still alive and unscratched, Hezbollah’s drone attack this morning is an incredible feat: managing to bypass Israeli air defences, undetected, and even a helicopter, with no air alarm going off until the very last few seconds and hitting the private residence of the Israeli Prime Minister. Just think about it: Little Satan had to use bunker busting bombs and destroying several apartment buildings in Beirut (Lebanon), killing and injuring many innocent civilians, just to assassinate Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Hezbollah’s cadres.
This drone attack comes soon after Hezbollah announced a new phase of escalation the other day, following Yahya Sinwar’s death (now confirmed also by Hamas - see for instance this article by The Guardian), as reported in this Al Mayadeen article, where you can read the following statement from Hezbollah's Operations Room:
In line with the directives of the Resistance leadership, the Islamic Resistance Operations Room announces the transition to a new, escalatory phase in the confrontation with the Israeli enemy, the details of which will unfold in the coming days.
That this drone attack is linked to a step up in Hezbollah’s escalation process is confirmed by the following statement by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, as reported on the this post on the Telegram channel “Resistance News Network (Unofficial)” - emphasis mine:

The qualitative "Caesarea" operation is a necessary step to achieve justice and punish the criminals.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine extended its proud and honored greetings to the brothers in Hezbollah and their brave and truthful fighters, affirming that the qualitative “Caesarea” operation, which targeted the residence of the war criminal wanted for justice, Benjamin Netanyahu, is a necessary, courageous, and wise step to punish this criminal.
The Front emphasized that the operation is a reflection of Hezbollah's announcement to move to a more painful phase, and it forms a key part of the response of the region's peoples and their resistance to the failure of the international system and its various institutions in punishing war criminals or stopping the massacres and genocide. It also highlights the complicity and conspiracy of the poles of the international and colonial system with the leaders of zionist terrorism.
The Front further stated that the operation is also part of the precise implementation of the resistance leadership's decision to move to a new phase in targeting this criminal enemy.
The Front stressed that making such wise decisions by Hezbollah's leadership and the success in carrying out this qualitative operation and striking the mentioned target is an important indicator of the resistance's transition to a new stage, which includes the direct pursuit and targeting by fire of zionist war criminals.
The Front called on the masses of the Arab nation and the free people of the world to intensify solidarity with the ongoing resistance that is punishing and deterring the criminal Zionist colonial terrorist system, and to support the efforts of the resistance in defending our peoples against the organized genocidal war.
It also urged for the escalation of protests and struggle against the interests and power centers of aggression and for raising voices in defense of the legitimate rights of our people.
