Houthis pledge allegiance to Hezbollah
...while Benjamin Netanyahu is set to face diplomatic hostility at the UNGA meeting in New York.
Today (Thursday 26th September 2024), the Yemeni leader of Ansar Allah, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badreddine al-Houthi, released encouraging statements in support of Islamic Resistance in Lebanon (Hezbollah) and the Palestinian factions, while blaming the Outlaw US Empire (a.k.a. Great Satan), UK and the other Western nations for their support to Israel (a.k.a. Little Satan), as reported by Al Mayadeen.
Here are a few excerpts:
Hezbollah today, with its faithful fighters and strong, conscious popular base, is stronger than ever.
The Israeli enemy will suffer heavy losses if it proceeds with a ground operation in Lebanon, and its ultimate outcome will be a major defeat.
The Zionist enemies remember what happened to them in 2006, and what could happen this time might be far worse.
[Hezbollah is] stronger and more united than ever, standing ready for any eventuality.
We will never hesitate to support Gaza, all of Palestine, Lebanon, and Hezbollah, and to cooperate with them.
On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu is “set to face diplomatic hostility from UN members”, as he flies to New York for the UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) meeting, as opined in a paywalled article by Bloomberg, but summarized here by Al Mayadeen. Again, here are some excerpts:
At the UN’s annual General Assembly, he’ll come face-to-face with the reality that hostility toward his government — and him personally — is at a years-long high. Several world leaders have taken the podium to castigate Israel’s military campaign in the Gaza Strip, with at least one, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, calling him out by name.
When he speaks on Friday, he's certain to take a far different tone [from last year UNGA meeting, held before Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on 7th October 2024], defending his nation's campaign in Gaza, where the death toll has now reached more than 41,000.
“Netanyahu believes that when he addresses the chamber, he’s addressing the world — and that audience includes Israelis back home, his base among them”, Dan Gillerman, a former ambassador to the UN, said. “He will doubtless defend the war on Hamas — and now, Hezbollah — as necessary.”
In the meantime, Little Satan keeps bombing Lebanon, including its capital Beirut, while Hezbollah strikes back with rocket barrages hitting “the settlements of Odem and El Rom in the occupied Syrian Golan”, as well as Upper al-Jalil and “Meron, where the Meron Air Traffic Control base is located, the occupied city of Safad, and multiple other settlements in the area, including Kadarim”, as reported in this Al Mayadeen article.
In another article Al Mayadeen quotes Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth as saying that, “despite the severe blows it received in the last week, Hezbollah did not lose its mental sharpness”, referring to Hezbollah’s unprecedented attack targeting Mossad's headquarters in Tel Aviv's suburbs, which I covered in my previous article, as “a historic landmark”.
In another report by Yedioth Ahronoth, quoted in the same Al Mayadeen article, the potential consequences of an Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon are discussed, and such a move is described as a "death trap" set by Hezbollah. This report comes shortly after Little Satan issued a statement announcing the call-up of two reserve brigades, as reported in this other Al Mayadeen article, for “operational missions” in the northern regions on the border with Lebanon and after Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi told troops to prepare for a possible ground invasion into Lebanon.
Yedioth Ahronoth doubts the military's readiness for an invasion, despite referring to the deployment of regular and reserve forces to the northern border, including the 98th Division. At the same time, as per Yedioth Ahronoth, the majority of the top leadership think that Little Satan made a tragic and bitter mistake by invading Lebanon in 1982 and 2006. In particular, in the second one, Little Satan believed that it could defeat the Lebanese resistance through air power alone without a ground invasion, but, when this strategy failed and Hezbollah carried on with its rocket barrages toward Israeli cities and towns, the Israeli military was forced to invade Lebanon in a war that “failed to achieve any of its objectives”.
It must be remembered that, in his speech one week ago, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, mocked “the foolish commander of the [Israeli] northern command's suggestion to establish a security belt” in South Lebanon to force the Lebanese group to retreat from the border. According to him, Hezbollah's fighters were "thoroughly looking" for Israeli tanks and viewed any invasion as a “golden, historical opportunity” to strike:
If the enemy establishes a security belt, it must understand that it will be ambushed and the zone will turn into a swamp and a quagmire in which it will be mired.
I conclude this article with the warning that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah gave to Netanyahu ~3 months ago, in June 2024:
We can say for sure that Nasrallah has kept his word, as Hezbollah keeps pounding Israel, with its rocket coverage now extending all the way to Tel Aviv!
UPDATE (26/09/2024): Al Mayadeen has just published this article with an overview of all the attacks by Hezbollah against Israel today, including two interesting videos.
UPDATE (27/09/2024): Al Mayadeen has reported that overnight the Houthis followed up their words with facts by launching a ballistic missile aimed at multiple targets in Tel Aviv. According to Israeli media quoted by Al Mayadeen, “Ben Gurion Airport reportedly halted its operations and was out of service for landing and take-off”!
It seems likely the IDF is about to be taught an epochal lesson🤭
you really have to wonder if Iran is working for the City of London at some level - see this article from today - https://www.globalresearch.ca/nato-israel-hezbollah-wwiii-one-world-government/5868754 and I don't believe at this point Iran is going to get involved I think Raisi would have but not this new guy and the Ayatollah picked him basically.
