Hypocrites mourn Navalny
Western governments and MSM are mourning Alexei Navalny on MSM and X, but they have not tweeted a single word about Gonzalo Lira and Julian Assange.
By now you have probably read or heard of Alexei Navalny’s death in prison. Here is a screenshot from Reuters:
Just to let you know who Navalny really is:
Western governments/elites immediately reacted to the news of Navalny’s death blaming Putin, of course. Here are just a few examples:
the Prime Minister of Latvia, Evika Siliņa, saying that “Putin’s regime imprisoned and has now tortured to death” Navalny:
From X (twitter.com). Sweden’s minister of foreign affairs, Tobias Billström, affirming that Navalny’s death “represents another terrible crime by Putin’s regime”:
From X (twitter.com). Latvian president, Edgars Rinkevics, stating that Navalny “was just brutally murdered by the Kremlin. That’s a fact”… but without providing any evidence of it.
High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, telling that Navalny’s death is “Putin’s sole responsibility”:

Yet, did you hear any of these crooks crying for Gonzalo Lira, when he died of pneumonia in Ukrainian prison? Most likely not, because they did not shed a single tear. Gonzalo Lira was an American citizen and not even his government cared for him: they let him rot and die in jail in Ukraine, though the US State Department offered their "sincerest condolences to the family on their loss”.
Now they are mourning Navalny, but they are not saying a word about Julian Assange, Australian editor, publisher and activist who founded WikiLeaks in 2006 and who has been confined in HM Prison Belmarsh (a high-security prison, the British version of Guantanamo, to say so) in London for almost 5 years (since April 2019), after spending ~7 years in the Embassy of Ecuador in London, being persecuted and prosecuted by the US Government under the Espionage Act for exposing its war crimes. By the way, Julian Assange is expecting a final decision on his extradition to US from the UK Supreme Court in a two-day hearing on 20-21 February 2024. If extradited, he could face up to 175 years in ADX Florence, "the Alcatraz of the Rockies”, a maximum-security prison in Colorado, where mostly terrorists and mafia bosses are kept in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day! So, in practice, Julian Assange may die in prison just for telling the truth.

P.S.: Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, posted the following on her Telegram channel about Western reactions to Navalny’s death:
The immediate reaction of NATO leaders to Navalny's death in the form of direct accusations against Russia is self-disclosing.
The forensic examination is not yet available, but the West already has its conclusions ready.
