What the Hezbollah leader said in his speech today
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, today delivered a speech, but you will not read about it in the MSM. The Guardian has just mentioned it briefly in its Middle East Crisis live today. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz is reporting about it, but its article is behind paywall and probably very biased. i24 News, an Israeli TV, has also published a short article with very few excerpts, whereas the Lebanese news agency Al Mayadeen has a more substantial article. Nevertheless, I have decided to take the highlights from the Al Mayadeen short news today (Tuesday 13th February) and summarize Nasrallah’s speech here:
What we are doing in Lebanon in supporting Gaza is an honest response to the moral and religious responsibility placed on each of us.
After 130 days Gaza's people exhibit legendary steadfastness and heroism that amounts to a miracle, and patience that is unparalleled in history, contrasting the occupation's continued policy of impotence and failure.
A "Strong Israel" poses a threat to the region, while a "deterred and frightened Israel" eases the situation.
The people of [Lebanese border] will have their home rebuilt.
Western envoys visiting Lebanon have one goal, which is to protect "Israel" and return their settlers to the north.
Delegations visiting Lebanon are trying to intimidate us against supporting Palestine.
These delegations are ignoring any discussions and are content with presenting "Israel's" proposals to Lebanon.
The front in South Lebanon is [meant to produce] pressure, support, and participate in defeating the enemy and weaken it until the aggression [on Gaza] stops.
We call on the Lebanese side to set additional conditions [on mediated talks] other than implementation [of UNSC] Resolution 1701.
No matter how much you threaten us, we will not submit, and even if you wage war against us, we will not stop [operating on] the southern front until the aggression against Gaza stops.
The enemy exploits social media information to undermine the Resistance and eavesdrop on cell phones.
If the enemy carries out its threats against us, it must realize that the hundred thousand who left the north will not return.
The Resistance today is more certain, determined, and prepared to confront the [Israeli] enemy.
It is also worth adding that just a few days ago Hezbollah downed and captured an Israeli Skylark drone in almost perfect conditions, as shown in this video in their Telegram channel.
Yemen news agency has Al-Houthi also giving a speech today. I do pay close attention to these speeches from key resistance leaders particularly when given near same time. Arab News sources are mostly what I follow although much of them are now blocked by Saudi MBS.
