Al Mayadeen has reported the following declaration from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stated after the missile/rocket strike in Majdal Shams, in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights:
We must be very strong so that Israel can’t do these things to Palestine.
Just as we entered [Nagorno-]Karabakh, just as we entered Libya, we might do the same to them. There is nothing we can’t do. We must only be strong.
…thus threatening a military intervention in Palestine against Israel.
Soon after these statements, the Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid tweeted the following on X (formerly Twitter):
…whereas Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz tweeted:
Erdogan is going down the path of Saddam Hussein and threatens to attack Israel. He should just remember what happened there and how that ended.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs then responded with the following tweet (emphasis mine):
Just as genocidal Hitler ended, so will genocidal Netanyahu.
Just as the genocidal Nazis were held accountable, those who tried to destroy the Palestinians will also be held accountable.
Humanity will stand with the Palestinians.
You will not destroy the Palestinians.
…which the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reposted, adding (emphasis mine):
Our President has become the voice of humanity's conscience.
International Zionist circles, especially Israel, who want to suppress this righteous voice, are in great alarm.
History ended the same way for all genociders and their supporters.
The timing of Erdogan’s declaration is quite indicative, since it happens, as I mentioned at the beginning of the article, soon after the missile/rocket strike in Majdal Shams, which Israel may be trying to capitalize to launch an offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon. So, it may be seen as a warning to Israel: “do not even think of escalating tension on the blue line or I will intervene with my army!”. Bear in mind that the Turkish army is the 2nd largest in NATO, after the US army (source: Statista).
As reported by Al Mayadeen in this other article, it is not the first time that Erdogan compares Netanyahu and Israel to Hitler and Nazi Germany, respectively, and that he threatens Israel with direct military intervention (see for instance this article).
The problem is: will he really take action or are his words going to stay empty?
Nevertheless, it must be said that Turkey is the only country (as far as I know) that has cut trade ties with Israel since early May 2024 “until a permanent ceasefire and humanitarian aid are secured in Gaza” (source: Reuters).
UPDATE (30/07/2024): Last night Al Mayadeen reported the following:
…meaning that most likely the US has not given the green light to Netanyahu for a military operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
As is it's nature, ZioIsrealhell is it's normal cowardly blood drinker selves by attacking a CIVILIAN center, at night. Palastinians' blood is not enough and also they demonstrate the dominance they have over the Western hegemonic governments.
They are an integral part of a group of evil creatures.
Since Turkey is a NATO member, wouldn't that mean the other member states are treaty bound to support its military actions?
