Ukraine invades Russia, for the EU and the US these are legitimate actions
A thorough assessment of the Western double standards by Vittorio Rangeloni.
You have probably heard already from the Western mainstream media (MSM) about the EU and US statements on the ongoing Ukrainian military operation in the Kursk oblast of the Russian Federation, so I will gloss over them for brevity sake, giving you just an example, in case you miss them, before going to the core of this article. Here are the words of European Commission spokesman Peter Stano (from Yahoo! News):
Ukraine has the legal right to defend itself, including striking an aggressor on its territory.
The EU continues to fully support Ukraine's legitimate right to defense against Russian aggression and its efforts to restore sovereignty and territorial integrity.
What Peter Stano & co. do not understand is that yes, Ukraine has the legal right to defend itself, but the Ukrainian military operation in Kursk is beyond its legitimate right to defense against Russian aggression, since it serves no purpose in restoring its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The UN charter legitimises the natural right of resistance, when armed aggression is carried out against another state (as in the case of Palestinians, though ignored by the West governments and their “presstitutes”!), but not a war without end and without limits. The Outlaw US Empire and especially the EU now support the perfect legitimacy of an action that turns a war of resistance into a counter-aggression to settle scores with the enemy state and take back previously lost territory. We are clearly outside the scope of self-defence: this is a war between two nations trying to destroy each other.
In order to better understand the double standards of the West, here is a quick recap of the events of the last 10 years, courtesy of Vittorio Rangeloni, Italian Journalist reporting on the Russo-Ukrainian war from Donbass since 2015. What follows is my English translation of one of his latest Telegram posts (all formatting original):
Ukraine invades Russia, for the EU and the US these are legitimate actions
Once again the West demonstrates its hypocrisy regarding the conflict with Russia, imposing the usual double standards. Every now and then it is fair to remind the many forgetful people how it all came to be.
🇺🇦 November 2013 - Groups of demonstrators take to the streets in Kiev to protest against the government.
🌈West: the right to demonstrate must be guaranteed.
⚔️Le authorities deploy security forces to suppress demonstrations that are becoming increasingly violent and armed.
🌈 West: repression is strongly condemned.
🇺🇦 February 2014 - Protesters gain power by coup d'état.
🌈 West: democracy has triumphed.
🇺🇦 The coup authorities in Kiev begin to ban opposition parties, televisions, newspapers, restrict the use and teaching of the Russian language, persecute the Orthodox canonical church, rehabilitate pages of history that the “Western world” itself had condemned.
🌈 West: Ukraine has embarked on the democratisation process.
🇷🇺 Spring 2014 - Groups of demonstrators take to the streets in Donbass to protest against the new government's measures.
🌈 West: no reaction; we don't like these demonstrations because they are pro-Russian.
⚔️Le authorities deploy police and army to suppress demonstrations.
🌈 West: no reaction; repressions are fine because they hit the “pro-Russians”.
🇷🇺 The “pro-Russians” demand federalisation, but continue to suffer repressions.
🇷🇺 The “pro-Russians” then call for a referendum for autonomy but continue to suffer repression from their own army.
🌈 West: The “pro-Russians” begin to be called “separatists” and then “terrorists”
⚔️ No common ground is found, civil war begins, which will last 8 years, despite the Minsk agreements (it will be admitted that these agreements served to stall and in parallel arm and train the Ukrainian army).
🇺🇦 🇷🇺 Autumn 2021 - Kiev deploys large forces on the border with the Donbass, Moscow does the same, demanding security guarantees from the US for months (these demands are punctually rejected). The West starts massively arming the Ukrainian army.
🇷🇺 February 2022 - Russia trespasses on Ukraine to defend the population of the Donbass.
🌈West: it's invasion.
🇺🇦 August 2024 - Ukraine trespasses into Russia to defend the population of the Sumy region
🌈West: It is Ukraine's right.
While Russia directly intervened in the conflict by defending the Donbass regions, the West did the exact same thing without admitting its involvement and responsibility, even in the face of evidence. In this new phase of the conflict in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian army has already crossed a new 'red line' related to the use of US missiles on territories considered Russian by the so-called “international community”. Russia has shown itself to be very patient and able to take the blows. But what if sooner or later it has to start demanding accountability?
Meanwhile, earlier today Russia announced the introduction of the counter-terrorist operation (KTO) in the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk oblasts, a measure that includes the introduction of restrictions, increased security measures and the evacuation of the population in some areas, as reported by TASS. It looks like Putin is taking things seriously. If Putin takes into account Medvedev’s suggestion (see ending of my previous post), Sumy, Chernihiv and Kiev may become the next Russian targets, after the liquidation of the terrorists in Kursk… of course that would mean the end of Ukraine, as forecasted also by Chechen commander Apty Alaudinov, who said that the ongoing fighting in Kursk could be “the final battle after which Ukraine will be defeated” (source: TASS).
P.S.: Talking about annihilation of Ukronazis, last night Andrei Martyanov posted a video of a Su-34 releasing a FAB-3000 (with 3 tonnes of explosive) with UMPK onto the reserves of VSU in Sumy region. OUCH!
thanks... that fellow vittorio rangeloni summarizes the hypocrisy very well... kudos.. i hope more read it and share it..
Actually, Ukraine only invaded the TRAP that Russia set up for these neo-nazis. The fall of Kiev is near.
