Israeli response to Iranian missile barrage imminent?
A review of hints and signals pointing in this direction.
After a week of silence due to other commitments, here I am again.
In the last (eventful) week or so we have seen the killing of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, in Beirut, the start of a new Israeli invasion of Lebanon and the Iranian missile barrage against Israel (“Operation True Promise 2”)1 in response to the assassinations of Nasrallah and Hamas political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran ~2 months ago, just to mention the most prominent events. More recent Israeli airstrikes in Beirut may have also killed the likely successor of Nasrallah, his cousin Hashem Safieddine, as speculated by The Times of Israel.
Despite the death of Nasrallah (certain) and Safieddine (possible, not confirmed), Hezbollah is still punching above its weight, by launching rockets against Little Satan (a.k.a. Israel) and now also killing Israeli invaders in Lebanon, as reported for instance in this Al Mayadeen article, meaning that Hezbollah is undeterred.
The Iranian missile attack against Little Satan has also signalled that the whole Axis of Resistance is stronger than ever, but apparently Little Satan has not learnt the lesson: in fact, according to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, an Israeli counter-attack on Iran is now imminent. Although US aircraft will not take direct part in the operation, there will still be strategic coordination between Great Satan (a.k.a. the Outlaw US Empire) and Little Satan, with sources reporting discussions between representatives of allied countries and leaders of the Israeli army to plan the response against Iran.
Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister with a long history of violent repression and military actions against the Palestinian population and other countries in the region, made statements justifying further acts of war:
No country in the world would accept such an attack on its cities and citizens, and Israel won’t either.
Israel has the duty and the right to defend itself and respond to these attacks — and it will do so.
…as reported by The Times of Israel.
To add insult to injury, former US President Donald Trump openly called on Israel to strike Iran's nuclear facilities directly. During a rally in North Carolina, he mocked President Biden's caution about the risk of escalation:
That's what you want to hit, right? […] Hit the nuclear first, then you'll take care of the rest.
An statement that reveals how the former US President, a long-time supporter of Israel's warmongering policies, is pushing for a potentially catastrophic escalation.
I think this tells you all you need to know about Kamala Harris and Donald Trump: there is very little difference between the two presidential candidates - they are both warmongers that will bring only more death and destruction in the Middle East!
The Guardian has just reported that Yoav Gallant, the Israeli “Defense” Minister, confirmed that his country is coordinating with the Outlaw US Empire and that “everything is on the table”, despite alleged US opposition to a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. But we know very well how this works: US officials saying that they want peace, that they are doing all their best to reach a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas or Hezbollah and yet they keep supplying weapons and ammunitions to Israel.
By the way, there has been quite a confrontation among analysts on “who is running the show in Israel” and if it is the tail (Little Satan) wagging the dog (Great Satan) or viceversa - see for instance the latest posts by Larry C. Johnson and Gilbert Doctorow. I am not going to enter the fray, but you can probably guess my position from this and my previous articles.
Getting back to the main topic of this article, US General Michael E. Kurilla, commander of CENTCOM, landed in Israel to coordinate operations, as reported by The Times of Israel. His presence reinforces the idea that the attack is now a matter of time, with full US logistical support, despite their official reservations. Little Satan, known for its terrorist policies towards the peoples of the region, seems determined to carry out a military operation that threatens to further inflame the whole area.
On the other side, Brigadier General Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the Iranian Navy, issued a clear warning to the aggressors:
We prepare ourselves for any situation.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Sayyed Ali Khamenei] has always stressed the need for full readiness and vigilance in normal or emergency conditions in the region, among them Netanyahu’s play with fire.
If they choose to ignite war in West Asia, Iran will stand resolutely against them.
…as reported by Al Mayadeen, which also quoted Commodore Ali Fadavi, Deputy Chief of the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), as saying:
If the occupying entity makes a mistake, we will target all its energy sources, including power stations, refineries, and gas fields.
Little Satan has been warned, but apparently it seems to ignore all warnings.
Finally, Al Mayadeen and IRNA have reported that some flights across Iran are suspended from 21:00 tonight to 6:00 tomorrow local time, “due to operational limitations”. While the latter source does not provide additional information, the former mentions the “expected Israeli counter-strike in response to Iran's Operation True Promise II”. On the other hand, The Guardian seems to imply exactly the opposite (i.e. that Iran may launch a new attack against Israel) by stating:
Iran implemented flight restrictions on Tuesday when it launched ballistic missiles at Israel earlier this week, an attack that Israel has vowed to retaliate.
Typical bull$hit of Western mainstream media.
In any case, brace yourself for further escalation in the Middle East and the incoming ping-pong between Israel and Iran!

I wasn't intending to weigh in on Doctorow vs Mearsheimer - but I did. I posted comments over at Sonar21 and Doctorow's latest that he posted today today on his site.
More on tails wagging dogs and vice versa

Basically my view is that there are layers and factions in the "PTB": Zionists are only one layer and faction. There is a layer above them and layers below them. So assuming it's a binary either-or situation is unproductive. And such an approach usually is.
In reality, it's a fractious mess with several power centers vying for control.
The important point is that ALL of them are on board with money, power and hegemony. So it's unproductive to single out any one faction.
Unfortunately humans seem to be unable to step back and see the similarities of two supposedly contradictory positions or the underlying reasons. Everything becomes a "religious war."
In the IT community, for the last 25 years the argument is: AMD vs Intel. Which line of CPUs are better? Before that it was the C language vs other computer languages. Anything and everything gets turned into a "religious war".
Basic human nature. Humans operate on the basis of this: "I'm right and you're wrong. Because if you're right and I'm wrong, I'm dead. And that can't be allowed. So I'm right and you're wrong - and I'll kill you to prove it."
Chimpanzee behavior.
This most terrifying thing about this is that the people running this shit show are dumber than rocks🫠 Zero critical thinking skills. The human species never fucking learns🤦♀️😔
