Turkey calls for Islamic alliance against Israel

...while Yemen downs the 8th American MQ-9 drone over Marib and Lindsey Graham admits once again the real reason why the Outlaw US Empire keeps financing Ukraine.

Following the killing of a Turkish-American human rights activist in the West Bank on Friday 6th September, on which I reported here, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued the following statement, while talking at an Islamic schools' association event near Istanbul on Saturday 7th September, as reported by Al Mayadeen in this article:

The only step that will stop Israeli arrogance, Israeli banditry, and Israeli state terrorism is the alliance of Islamic countries.

Erdogan added that his recent efforts to establish a stronger relationship with Egypt and Syria are part of a strategy to form “a line of solidarity against the growing threat of [Israeli] expansionism”.

In fact, this comes after the visit of Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Ankara last week (see this other Al Maydeen article for more details), the first visit to Turkey of an Egyptian President in 12 years, signalling the warming up of a previously frosty relationship.

And back in July Erdogan announced that he was trying to normalize the relationship between Turkey and Syria as well, after ~13 years of frozen diplomatic relations, as I reported in the article in the link below.

So, it looks like Erdogan is quite serious in his efforts! So serious that Israel did not like his statements and its Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, called them “a dangerous lie and incitement” in the following tweet:

It must be said that Israel Katz is quite good at generating AI images… Joking aside, I would start getting worried, if I were the Israeli Foreign Minister. The last thing Israel wants is a wide alliance/coalition of Islamic countries: Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Iran.

I am here with President Zelensky. I am such an admirer of what you and your country have done. You're trying to stop the Russians so we don't have to fight them. They don't need American troops. They just need weapons to free their country of a terrible invasion. They are sitting on trillions of dollars worth of minerals that could be good to our economy. So I want to keep helping our friends in Ukraine. We can win…
