War is a means of politics to reach certain goals. The way ist to destroy miltary (often civilians), material, sources and economy up to the point that the enemy ist forced to do the will of his opponent.
The biggest problem is that in a state of war humans are allowed to kill and maim others. As this is unnatural for zivilicised humans, you cannot switch the killing as a moral thing on and off. So warrying parties live in a state of congnitve dissonance - and the soldiers often till the end of their live.
War is the ultimate expression of the state.
No expense is spared in manufacturing weapons.
Meanwhile people pile up credit card debt and bridges collapse.
